Hilla Haddad Chmelnik unveiled the startup Moonshot Space, which is trying to reinvent space launch

Moonshot Space has raised $2.5 million to date in a pre-seed round, along with a $1.5 million grant from the Israel Innovation Authority.

The company is developing a ground-based system that launches a capsule into space at extremely high speeds — like a cannon — with the goal of reducing launch costs without a traditional rocket. The former Director General of the Ministry of Science is trying to reinvent how we launch into space.
